Amanda (she/her/ella) is a hyperlocal journalist working freelance across the Greater Los Angeles area, focusing on Southeast & East Los Angeles. She is currently employed at KCBS/KCAL Los Angeles as a News Associate, and at The Boyle Heights Arts Conservatory/KQBH 101.5 lpfm, as a Radio News Anchor, Reporter, Host & Producer and Teaching Artist. 
   She is passionate about telling stories and is always seeking interesting and new ways to engage and inform through the many mediums of journalism. 
   Amanda earned a Bachelor's in Journalism from California State University, Long Beach, where she developed a background in social media, web, photo & print journalism. She has served on three Editorial boards as Web EIC, Social Media Editor, News Editor and Community Editor. She also has experience in live event coverage (Social Media), and Production (Media & Event).
